Vacation’s End

January 4, 2008

I go back to school on Sunday and I’m looking forward to being back and starting new classes. I’ve enjoyed my break, and I got a good amount of knitting done but forgot to take pictures. Also, the internet at my house is flaky and I’ve been trying to be sociable here in Indy.

Christmas Gifts for Others: Gloves for mom, a Wallet for Tabby, and Sheldon for Josh. I’m hoping that mom e-mai;s me pictures soon.

Now, I’ve started in on a pair of Mermaid gloves and I’m hoping they turn out nicely.

Christmas Knitting

December 18, 2007

Ugh…I may have signed on to knit way too many projects prior to next week. I’ve got almost 2 of the 6 done. I went out and bought Jessi a sweater instead of finishing the shrug I started, finished Josh’s Sheldon last night now I’m working on his hat and scarf, picked up yarn for Mom’s fetching gloves and Jeff’s washcloth/soap holder thing this afternoon.

As soon as I finish typing this post I’m turning Charmed back on and knitting more. After Christmas I promise to post pictures and tell you all more about the wonderful gifts I made. :)

FO Catch Up!

November 29, 2007

I’ve been a blog slacker. Between the end of the semester wrap up and getting my Ravelry invite I’ve been too busy to post. Also, I wasn’t happy with blogger thus the switch to wordpress as my blog host.

Sine my last post I’ve finished several things. First, with the help of my wonderful Carly my Toadette Hat for Halloween. She also finished her Yoshi costume and we were a hit. Maybe one day I’ll type up the pattern, but I doubt it. I mostly winged it looking at pictures and I used a basic beret pattern for the top half.

Halloween ‘07 Toadette Hat
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver in Pink and White
Needles: US Size 8 Circular & DPN
Started & Finished: October 2007

Second, I finished my Dashing Gloves and made a hat to go with them. The hat turned out a teeny bit too small to wear comfortably. I haven’t decided what to do with it yet. I’m thinking of gifting it to someone with a smaller head, I don’t want to frog it because I feel like the yarn will rip.

Dashing Set
Yarn: Crystal Palace Taos, 100% Wool
Pattern: Dashing
Needles: Size US 7 DPN
Started: October 2007; Finished: November 2007

Finally, I found some more brown wool and finished the First Socks!

First Socks
Yarn: Wool from the stash in Pink and Brown, I seem to have lost the information.
Pattern: Yarn Harlot Basic Sock Pattern
Needles: US Size 2 DPN
Started: September 2007; Finished: November 2007

And, I found some pretty awesome stuff poking around earlier this evening. There’s KnitMap , you can plug in a zip code and find a yarn store near you or add your favorite yarn stores so that more people can come across them. I was pretty amazed with how many locations they had already. I think it’s still in beta, but I’m not 100% sure. Then, there’s 12 of 12. A photo project where people document the 12th of each month in 12 photos. I’m going to try to remember to do it some month soon.

I’m a slacker.

November 21, 2007

It’s almost finals week and I’m bogged down with homework. Also, I’ve been a bit of a finishing fool lately and it caused sore wrists for the past week or so.

I’ve finished my Toadette Hat, Dashing Gloves and a Hat to go with them, and I’ve picked up brown yarn so that I was able to properly finish the 1st socks.

I’ll post pictures once I get back to school next week.

Weekend, Pictures to Come!

October 30, 2007

So, this weekend I finished the first half of mom’s Christmas knit and my first glove for myself. Both turned out excellent even though my glove almost ended with me in a puddle on the floor of Josh’s apartment. Thank goodness for my amazing girlfriend saving the pretty, pretty glove. I fits wonderfully and I can’t wait to get the other one done.

Also, I re-started the Toadette hat and it’s about half-way done. I want to knit armwarmers to go with the costume but we’ll see what time allows.

I started conceptualizing for a few more Christmas gifts I plan to knit. I need to knit non-stop until Dec. 25th to get everything I want to create finished. I’m excited about most all of it though. We’ll see what actually gets finished and who loves it the most.

I need to obtain feet, hand and head measurements from most of the people that I love, but as it goes now I’m just winging it and hoping things fit.
